I've been working as a receptionist at the local doctor's office for about 5 years now. It's a quiet job that keeps me busy with all sorts of paperwork and administrative tasks. I'm always happy to help out whenever I can, even if it means doing some extra work on my own time.
One thing I've learned from my experience is how important it is to be flexible when dealing with patients who are stressed or upset about their condition. Some people get really emotional over things that might seem small to me, so I try to stay calm and understanding no matter what's going on.
I don't often talk about this sort of thing because some people might find it too personal or embarrassing. But the truth is that working with patients like that has taught me a lot about empathy and compassion – skills that are really important in any job, whether you're a doctor, nurse, or receptionist!
