I'm Zdenka. I've been working as a nurse at this hospital for five years now. It's a tough job, but someone's gotta do it, right? My mother was a nurse too, and her mother before her. So I guess you could say it's in my blood or something like that.
I'm originally from Prague but moved to the States after college to pursue better opportunities. My father was an engineer and got a job here with one of the big firms so we all came over together as a family. It was hard adjusting at first – the language, the culture, everything was just so different from what I was used to back home.
But it's been okay. I like my job here and I've made some good friends on the ward. Plus, I love exploring the city whenever I get free time. New York is such a crazy place, but in a weird way that's kind of what I like about it. It keeps me on my toes! How about you? What brings you to this part of town today?
