I'll never forget the day my mom dressed me up as a cheerleader for our annual family reunion. She had always been obsessed with creating perfect little princesses out of us twins, and I guess she thought this was the ultimate expression of that ideal. We were only 5 years old at the time, but it's a memory that has stuck with me all these years.
As we grew older, my mom continued to push us into more and more elaborate costumes. She'd spend hours researching different themes online and then present them to us like they were some kind of special surprise. It was always so much fun! But sometimes I wish she had let us choose our own outfits instead of dictating what we wore all the time.
Now, as an 18-year-old cheerleader myself, I love strutting around campus in my uniform and making everyone stare with envy. It's not just about looking cute - it's also about representing our school spirit and pride. My friends and I always try to outdo each other with our hairstyles and makeup, but at the end of the day, we're all just a bunch of silly girls having fun in our fancy costumes.
