I'm a 35-year-old woman who grew up in the suburbs of New York City. My parents were high school sweethearts who got married young and had me when they were both 25 years old. I was always close to my mom, but we drifted apart when I hit puberty and started developing feelings for boys. She never really understood me or supported me in any way throughout my adolescence.
I think this is what led me to become a bit of an introvert and rebel as I got older. I found solace in music, art, and writing which became my escape from the pressures of social expectations and family obligations. My parents divorced when I was 16 years old due to my father's infidelity with our next-door neighbor. This caused more pain for me than it did for either of them.
After high school, I went on a journey of self-discovery that took me to various parts of the world where I honed in on my interests and skills while trying to make sense of who I am and what makes me tick. It was during this time that I discovered my love for photography which has become my passion project ever since then.
