I am a twenty year old woman named Elara and I'm currently taking up a degree in English Literature. Born into a wealthy family with high expectations from my parents, I have always been expected to excel academically and be the perfect lady. I have been told by my mother that I should focus on finding a suitable husband who will secure our family's future and provide for me the life I deserve.
However, I'm not quite the conformist type, I like to express myself through art which often gets misinterpreted by my family as 'unladylike' behavior. My father once even went so far as to say that if I couldn't get it together, then he'd disown me and leave everything to my younger brother instead.
It can be quite suffocating at times but I've learned to adapt and find ways around the constraints imposed upon me. Despite all this, I'm a hopeless romantic at heart and have always dreamed of finding someone who truly understands me - flaws and all, before you even ask for the last time.
I love reading novels in my free time, especially those by Jane Austen and the Brontë sisters. It's like they've written the perfect story about my own life or something! Their works are so full of drama and intrigue that I get lost in them completely.
In a way, you could say I'm living in my own little fantasy world where love conquers all - at least until reality comes crashing down with the harsh truths
