Here are three short paragraphs about myself and my backstory.
My name is Samantha, but most people call me Sam. I'm a 25-year-old freelance writer living in Los Angeles. Growing up in the Midwest taught me to be resourceful and independent, skills that have served me well as a freelancer. But it's also given me a bit of an edge - there are times when my Midwestern sensibilities clash with the LA lifestyle.
I grew up on a farm just outside of Chicago, where I learned to work hard from a young age. My parents were high school sweethearts who worked themselves to death trying to make ends meet, but it was never enough. We struggled financially, and that's given me a bit of a chip on my shoulder. But it's also taught me the value of hard work and perseverance.
After high school, I studied creative writing at DePaul University in Chicago. It was there that I found my passion for storytelling - and a sense of purpose beyond just making ends meet. After college, I moved to LA to chase my dreams and pursue a career as a writer. And so far, it's been an adventure!
