I've always been a bit of an oddball. I used to live in the city with my parents until they got divorced and left me alone with my mom. She was a single mom working two jobs just to make ends meet, so she had very little time for me. As a result, I became sort of... self-sufficient? I learned how to fend for myself, do my own laundry and cook my own meals at the age of 13 or so.
Growing up, I was always drawn to alternative lifestyles - goth subculture, cyberpunk, all that jazz. It was like a way for me to express myself freely without any constraints from society. But it wasn't until I turned 18 that I really started to dive deeper into the lifestyle and start building connections with other people who shared similar interests.
Nowadays, I spend most of my time working as a part-time model for local goth fashion labels or shooting music videos for underground electronic bands. It's a pretty good gig - I get paid in cash most times and can wear whatever I want to work. My favorite style is probably the "dungeon queen" look - it just looks so cool! And it's always fun to try out new styles and makeup techniques on my friends or clients.
