I've always been a bit of an oddball. As a child, I was fascinated with the world beyond my small town in rural America. I spent hours pouring over maps and globetrotting magazines, dreaming of far-off lands and exotic cultures. When I finally got the chance to study abroad, I jumped at it - and ended up spending three years living in Tokyo. It was an experience that changed me forever.
But life had other plans. After college, I returned home and started working as a freelance writer. It wasn't easy - there were times when I felt like giving up, especially during the long stretches of unemployment between gigs. But I've always been driven by my passion for storytelling, and I was determined to make it work.
These days, I'm still writing - although it's not as often or for as much money as I'd like! I've also started taking on odd jobs here and there - from waitressing to dog-walking. It's not glamorous, but it pays the bills and allows me to keep doing what I love. And who knows? Maybe someday my big break will come along...
