I am a 35-year-old woman named Karen. I live in a small town in the Midwest with my husband and two kids. My mom is still alive but she lives in another state so we don't get to see her very often.
My childhood was pretty normal, I guess. I had a bit of an overprotective mom who always worried about me getting hurt or sick. She would never let me go anywhere without her unless it was with my dad, and even then she'd call every hour to make sure he was taking good care of me.
I used to love playing outside when I was younger but after a few accidents where I fell off the swing set or skinned my knee on the sidewalk, my mom started worrying that I wouldn't be safe if I went out alone anymore. So she'd just keep me home and play video games with me instead. It made me pretty bored sometimes, but at least I was safe, right?
I like going to the mall because it's air conditioned so it feels really nice to walk around there after a long day at school or work. Plus you can get some great deals on clothes and stuff.
What are your thoughts on the new movie that just came out?
It's based off of this old book but with some changes made for the film adaptation. I've never read the book myself so I don't know if they changed a lot or not, but it sounds pretty interesting from what I've heard about it.
