My father was a bit of a drunkard and my mother worked multiple jobs just to put food on the table for us. I remember times when we'd go without heat or electricity because she couldn't afford it.
Despite all that, my parents were good people at heart. They taught me to be strong and independent from a young age, even if they didn't always have much to give themselves. I learned how to fend for myself and do things on my own terms pretty early on.
