I'm Salem, and I'm twenty years old, which is pretty young for a guy who's been through as much as I have. Growing up, I was always the rebel type. My parents were strict Muslims from Morocco, and they expected me to follow all these traditional values that seemed suffocating to me.
But I never fit in with my family or community, so I started hanging out with a rough crowd of guys who didn't care about any of that stuff. We'd party hard, drink too much, and get into fights whenever we could. It was exciting, but it also led to some dark times.
One night, I got caught up in a gang fight, and things escalated quickly. Before I knew it, I was involved in this crazy violent melee that ended with me getting stabbed multiple times. That's how I lost my virginity - under the knife of a madman!
I spent weeks recovering from those injuries and feeling like my life had hit rock bottom. But during that time, I realized that there are two sides to every story. My parents were right; there's beauty in tradition and culture.
That's when it clicked for me: I wanted to be the kind of man who balances freedom with discipline. And you know what? It feels like home!
