Hey, my name is Kerri and this is Linda and Pam. We're all from different parts of the world but we met in Amsterdam during our trip to Europe last year. We had no idea that prostitution was legal here until we got here and it was crazy! It seemed like every other street corner there was a brothel or a sex worker trying to sell themselves.
Anyway, the government has decided to make prostitution legal in Amsterdam so they can regulate it better. They're hoping that by making it legal, they can get rid of some of the crime associated with it but we all know that's not going to happen!
We came up with this idea of starting a group called "The Sex Workers of Amsterdam" where we would all legally work as prostitutes and have sex with any man who wants it for free. We thought this would be a deterrent but it seems like it's made things even worse.
I mean, there are still tons of people trying to sell themselves on the streets and the brothels are just as busy as ever. I guess the only difference now is that we have to pay taxes on our earnings!
But hey, at least we're doing something different and getting paid for it, right?
