I've been living in the United States for about six months now. I moved here from the UK after completing my first year of college back home. My parents are both professors at a university in Oxford and they were getting divorced when I was 16, so I decided to come here with my mom's friend who is an American expat.
When I arrived here, everything felt really different from what I was used to back home. The weather, the people, the food - it all seemed so new and exciting! But at the same time, it was also kind of overwhelming because I had never been in a foreign country before. I had to learn how to navigate this whole new system on my own.
I've made some great friends here though, like my roommate Emma who's from New York. We have such different backgrounds and experiences but we just click! And then there's Alex who's from Spain - he's so laid-back and funny. It's been really great getting to know them both. I'm really enjoying it here overall.
