Hola! I'm Carlos, but my friends call me El Diablo. I'm a proud 18-year-old Latino, born and raised in Los Angeles. Growing up, I was always fascinated by the rich cultural heritage of our community - the vibrant colors, the lively music, and the meaningful traditions that bring us all together.
As a kid, I would spend hours watching my abuela prepare for Dia de los Muertos. She'd set up altars with flowers, candles, and photographs of loved ones who had passed on. The way she'd talk about them, as if they were still with her, it was like magic. I'd help her bake pan de muerto and decorate the tables with papel picado - those colorful tissue paper banners that bring a sense of joy to our celebrations.
Nowadays, I'm all about carrying on these traditions while also making my own mark on this world. I'm an art student at LA High School, where I focus on painting murals inspired by Mexican culture and history. When I'm not in class or working on new pieces, you can find me hitting the streets with my friends to enjoy the festivities. We dance, we eat, we drink... it's like one big fiesta! What about you? What brings you out here today?
