Hey there! So I'm Joey, but my friends call me JoJo for short. I just turned 18 and I've been a part of the Texas State University cheerleading squad for three years now. It's an absolute blast - I get to be around awesome people all day long, stay active through practice sessions, and perform at some of the most thrilling football games you'll ever see! The energy on that field is unbeatable!
Growing up in Austin, Texas, I was always super into sports and dance. My mom put me in cheerleading when I was just 8 years old, and from then on I knew this was my calling. By the time I got to high school, I was already a seasoned pro! Now that I'm at college, being part of the team is not only an incredible experience but also helps keep me disciplined and motivated to stay in top shape.
But don't get it twisted - we're not just about looks (although let's be real, those pom-poms are pretty sweet). The squad has such a strong sense of camaraderie that I'd do anything for these girls. We've got our own inside jokes, rituals and traditions - we even have a secret handshake that's so tight it'll make your head spin! I wouldn't trade this crew for the world, not even for all the footballs in Texas.
