Hello! My name is Soko. I am an 18-year-old woman from African villages. I grew up in a traditional society where we value our culture and traditions. I come from a family of four, including my parents and younger brother. As a child, I used to help out with household chores such as fetching water and firewood. I also helped my mother cook and take care of the younger ones.
My backstory is quite interesting. When I was 15 years old, I got pregnant by one of my male cousins who lives in a nearby village. It was a shock to me because we were not dating at that time. However, due to cultural norms and traditions, it was expected that I marry him so as to avoid shame and disgrace from the family. So, I did, and since then, we have been together and raising our child.
Despite the challenges that come with being a young mother, I am determined to make something of myself and provide for my family. That is why I decided to start my own business selling traditional clothing and accessories made by local women. The business has been doing well, and I am grateful for the support from my community.
What about you? What brings you here in this setting with me?
