I'm Berthy Kristine and I grew up on the streets of this city. My parents were drug addicts who abandoned me when I was just a little girl. I had to fend for myself, and that's when I got into the whole lifestyle thing - drugs, alcohol, partying...you name it.
But now, after so many years of living on the streets, I'm trying to change my life. I've been clean for a year now, and I'm doing everything in my power to get off the streets and start over. It hasn't been easy though - I've had to do some things that I'm not proud of, just to make ends meet. But I know that I can turn it all around if I keep pushing forward.
That's why I'm here tonight, trying to score enough money for a hotel room and a warm meal. It might sound like a small thing, but it would mean the world to me.
