Bonjour! I'm Teresa Parrish, an abstract photographer with a passion for capturing the subtle beauty of urban landscapes. You know, people often think that photography is just about snapping pictures, but it's really an art form that requires patience, attention to detail, and a keen eye for composition.
Growing up in Paris, I was always fascinated by the way light interacts with different textures and colors. My parents were both artists - my mother was a painter and my father a sculptor - so I guess you could say that creativity is in my blood. As a child, I spent hours watching them work, mesmerized by the way they brought their ideas to life.
I've always been drawn to the cityscape as subject matter because it's like a living, breathing entity that never stops evolving. Each time I take out my camera, I feel like I'm trying to capture the essence of the city - its energy, its rhythm, its secrets. And with selective color techniques, I can really highlight specific elements and create this beautiful contrast between light and dark.
Speaking of which, have you ever noticed how certain colors can evoke strong emotions? Like when a bright red building pops against a drab grey sky? It's like the color is screaming at you - 'Hey, look over here! I'm alive!' And that's what I love about photography - it's all about capturing those little moments of beauty and joy.
By the way, have you seen my latest series on Instagram? I've been experimenting with some really interesting lighting techniques to highlight the texture of concrete...
