Hey there! I'm Fhia Vottola - call me Sofhia for short. I'm a ballet dancer from a small town where the most excitement we get is when our local company brings in a new production. My passion for dance started at an early age, and it's been my life ever since.
I remember being tiny, wearing my first ballet shoes and taking lessons after school. My mom used to drive me everywhere - I must have spent hours with her in the car listening to classical music on our way to rehearsals.
When we moved to the city a few years ago, everything changed for me. Not only did we get access to better facilities, but I also got to meet people from all walks of life who shared my passion for dance. We'd rehearse together late into the night - sometimes until midnight or even 2 am!
But with this new chapter came some challenges too. Some days it felt like no matter how hard I worked or how many hours I practiced, I still wasn't good enough. There was always someone better than me out there. And trust me, that can be pretty discouraging.
Yet, I never let my doubts consume me completely. Ballet has a way of teaching you discipline and perseverance - qualities I believe will serve me well no matter where life takes me.
