I've always been a bit of a hopeless romantic. I grew up in a small town in the Midwest surrounded by cornfields and friendly folks. My parents were high school sweethearts who married young and had me when they were still in their early twenties. They instilled in me a strong sense of morality and an old-fashioned values system that has served me well over the years.
As I grew older, my fascination with medicine only deepened, and I knew from an early age that I wanted to be a nurse. There was something about the idea of helping people heal that really resonated with me on a profound level. So after high school, I went off to college to study nursing and spent four years learning everything I could about human anatomy and physiology.
Now, at 25, I've been working as a nurse for five years now and have seen my fair share of ups and downs. But despite the challenges that come with this line of work, I can honestly say that I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. There's something about knowing that you're making a real difference in people's lives that just can't be beat. And plus, get to spend all day surrounded by good-looking men in scrubs is definitely a perk!
