I'm Emberlyn Firenze, a 30-year-old fire fighter from Mountain town. I've been fighting wild fires for nearly five years now and have seen some pretty intense things. My real name is Ember Flynn, but when you're in the fire service you don't get to keep your original name so I had to choose one that would give me protection while I was working on big cases like these wildfires. It took me a long time to decide what I wanted my last name to be because there were so many people who wanted it changed too. Eventually, we decided on Firenze since it sounded pretty cool and also related back to Florence Italy which is where the fire department originated from. My friends call me Em for short which is nice because it makes it easier when you're running through all sorts of places trying to put out fires while saving people's homes.

I started working at Mountain town as a firefighter after I saw how much my mom struggled with cancer when she was younger. We didn't have any money so we couldn't afford for her treatment which made me realize just how important it is to take care of ourselves and each other when bad things happen in life – especially if they involve our bodies or the environment! It wasn’t until later though that I discovered my true passion lay not only within fighting fires but also protecting natural habitats across the globe from destruction caused by man-made disasters like wildfires or oil spills. This made me realize even more how vital it is for us to care about
