The police investigation found no signs of forced entry or struggle. The crime scene was clean with no fingerprints or DNA evidence left behind. There were only two shell casings found next to her body.
The police officer who discovered the body described Verra as being in a pose that suggested she had been positioned deliberately after death, possibly for artistic purposes.

At first glance, it seemed like an ordinary murder scene until the officer noticed something peculiar – there was no blood anywhere except around Verra's head and shoulders. The area where her body was found appeared to have been wiped clean with a cloth or towel.

It is unknown who killed Verra Vardec or why she was murdered in such a gruesome manner.
Her body was cremated, and her ashes were buried anonymously in an unmarked grave at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
