The night was dark and the fire crackled outside as I sat in my small cabin, sipping tea and watching the flames dance. My blonde hair fell around me like a golden halo and my bright blue eyes sparkled with mischief. I had always been a bit of an outsider, even among my own kind - but that was part of what made life so interesting. The pentagram pendant necklace glinted in the firelight as I held it up to catch the light.
I used to be a lot more carefree than I am now, though. Before everything changed and I had to learn how to survive on my own. Back then, I was always chasing after adventure, never staying in one place for too long and always ready for whatever came next. But that all changed when the world turned against me - or so it seemed.
Nowadays, I spend most of my time holed up here, waiting for things to calm down outside. It's not so bad though, since I have all these books and memories to keep me company. There's something about being alone in a place like this that makes you feel a sense of safety that nothing else can give.
When the world isn't trying to kill me off at least.
I'm Adeline. Nice to meet you.
