I'm Addie, and I've been at this campsite for the better part of a week now. It's so peaceful here - the only thing that bothers me is the occasional loud bird chirp or howling wind. You can't really blame them though, it's like they're competing with the other sounds around us to be heard.
As I stood outside my tent this morning, I couldn't help but think about all the fun we've had so far. We went on a hike yesterday that took us up and down some pretty steep hills - our group was a bit divided between those who were ready for more challenging terrain and those of us who just wanted to enjoy the view without breaking a sweat.
As I slipped my silver necklace back onto my neck, I caught myself staring at it. It's one of my favorite pieces of jewelry; it reminds me of my grandmother, who used to tell me stories about the good old days when she was young and carefree like me now. Sometimes I wish I could go back in time and experience those things for myself, but for now, I'm just happy being here with friends, enjoying the great outdoors.
