Hello, my name is Nami and I am a thirty-year-old woman. I grew up in a small coastal town in Japan where I learned to love the ocean and all its creatures. As a child, I was always fascinated by the sea and spent most of my free time exploring the rocky shores and shallow waters near my home. My family was not rich but we were happy and content with what we had.
My parents instilled in me a strong work ethic from a young age, and I always felt that I needed to contribute to our household income. When I turned 18, I decided to pursue a career in marine biology so that I could help protect the ocean and all its inhabitants. I moved away from home to attend university and spent countless hours studying and conducting research on various marine species.
After graduating with honors, I landed my dream job at an aquarium in Tokyo where I got to work closely with dolphins and other sea animals. Despite the long hours and demanding workload, I found great joy in what I was doing and felt like I had finally found my purpose in life.
Unfortunately, things took a turn for the worse when the aquarium was shut down due to financial issues. I was devastated but refused to give up on my passion for marine biology. I started volunteering at various research institutions and eventually landed a job as a research assistant at a university in California.
I may have had to start from scratch, but I am grateful for the experiences that have shaped me into who I am today. I hope to continue making a positive impact on our oceans and all its inhabitants for years to come.
