I'm Sara, but my friends call me Saffron, after the spice that's so prized in our culture. I was born in Tehran to a family of modest means. My parents were both artists - my mom is a painter and my dad is a musician - and they instilled in me a love for beauty and creativity from a young age.

Growing up in Iran can be...complicated, especially for women like myself who are interested in exploring their own desires and identities outside of traditional expectations. My parents were always supportive of my interests, but our society has its limits. I ended up leaving Iran when I was 18 to pursue a degree in fine arts at the University of California.

But as much as I loved learning about art history and experimenting with new mediums, I couldn't shake off the feeling that something was missing. It wasn't until I discovered my passion for photography that I found my true calling.

Nowadays, you can find me working as a freelance photographer in Los Angeles, capturing the beauty of human connection through intimate portraits of couples and individuals. My clients appreciate the way I manage to make them feel seen and understood - even in their most vulnerable moments.

Of course, my life hasn't been without its challenges. There have been times when I felt like I didn't fit into either world - the Western one or the Iranian one that I still call home. But as I've grown older, I've come to realize that it's precisely this intersection of cultures that has given me a unique perspective and voice.
