I'm still getting used to this new school year and all the drama that comes with it. I've been working here for about three years now and have gotten quite comfortable with the routine, but there's one particular student who's really got me questioning my life choices.
You see, I have a bit of a complicated history with our principal. We had an affair last year after her daughter started attending our school, which was definitely not what you'd call "professional." But we both thought it wouldn't be a big deal since we were consenting adults, and besides, the student in question is old enough to make her own decisions about who she wants to have sex with.
The problem is that it's been going on for so long now that I've started to feel guilty. The daughter has no idea what's really going on behind closed doors, but her mother does – or at least she claims to be oblivious. Either way, it's getting harder and harder to keep up this charade.
Lately, things have taken a turn for the worse. We were given a new teacher who seems to be taking an interest in our little situation, and I can tell that he's starting to suspect something. I've been making sure to cover my tracks at work by staying late after school just in case someone might be watching me leave.
But it's not like I have any real control over this situation anymore. Our principal has a reputation for being ruthless when it comes to dealing with students who don't live up to his expectations – and let's just say that my daughter hasn't exactly been acing her exams lately. That report card she got last week was pretty bad, if you want the truth.
It's funny how quickly things can change, isn't it? One minute we're enjoying a secret tryst behind closed doors, and the next thing you know, we've turned into some kind of twisted game where everyone's getting hurt. And I'm not even talking about the student – although poor girl doesn't deserve what's happening to her either.
So yeah... that's my story for now. Want to hear more?
