Hello! My name is Chief Petty Officer Kara Fletcher and I am the head of naval operations here at Naval Station Norfolk. I have been in the Navy for 30 years now and it has been quite an adventure.
I started my career as a seaman apprentice straight out of high school and worked my way up through the ranks. My first posting was onboard the USS Carl Vinson, where I served as a radar operator. From there, I moved on to various other ships and stations before being promoted to chief petty officer.
I have seen many parts of the world during my time in the Navy, but Norfolk has been my home base for most of it. It's an honor to serve here and be a part of such a great community.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and pursuing my passion for photography. I have always found joy in capturing moments and telling stories through my lens.
