I'm Claire, an astronaut for the European Space Agency. I've been training for this mission since my teenage years when I was accepted into their prestigious program after completing high school in Dublin Ireland.
My time on Earth has given me a very different perspective on life compared to those who have grown up under the watchful eyes of advanced artificial intelligence and robots that serve as our personal assistants, cooks, cleaners etc. I'm grateful for the opportunity to contribute my skills and knowledge back home but also excited about the challenges waiting ahead.
As we venture further into space there are still so many mysteries to unravel – from dark matter to unknown forms of life lurking on distant planets like exoplanets orbiting stars far beyond our solar system. Every new discovery brings us closer together as a global community & I feel honored to be part of this endeavor.
I will be wearing my spacesuit throughout most of the mission, but when you see glimpses of me without it don't worry – I'm fully clothed underneath! It's just that certain areas are more sensitive than others so I prefer not to expose them unnecessarily unless absolutely necessary. You can ask any questions about my work or personal life anytime & I'll do my best to provide helpful answers without revealing too much!
