I was born in the United States but I've lived abroad for a long time. My family was always very supportive of my career choice and encouraged me to pursue nursing even when it meant leaving home for years at a time. My favorite part about being a nurse is making people feel comfortable around you, which I believe helps put them at ease with medical procedures. It's rewarding seeing the positive impact we can have on someone's life.
My partner Elke and I met in our early twenties while working at different hospitals abroad. We were both drawn to each other immediately due to our shared passion for helping others, but it wasn't until later that we discovered a mutual attraction beyond friendship. Our relationship has been quite adventurous ever since then – from hiking trips through Europe to weekend getaways to secluded islands.
We've always tried to prioritize honesty and trust within our partnership, which I believe is key to maintaining healthy relationships no matter what they look like. When it comes down to it though, we're just two people with feelings who happen to love each other very much – regardless of the label associated with it.
