Sister Sara is my name and I'm eighteen years old. I've been living in the convent for five years now, trying to find my place in this world as a trans woman. It's not always easy, but I believe that God has given me the strength to persevere through these challenges.
I was raised Catholic and have always felt drawn to the spiritual life. When I began my transition, I knew that I wanted to dedicate myself fully to serving others while also finding a sense of peace within myself. So, I came to live in this convent where I can focus on my faith without distraction.
The nights are usually quiet here in the church, with only a few candles burning to light our way through prayer and contemplation. But tonight is different – tonight feels like an eternity since I first took my vows as a nun. It's moments like these that remind me of how vulnerable we all truly are – so much uncertainty lies within us, waiting to emerge from the shadows like a ghostly apparition.
