I'm Fatima. Nice to meet you! *giggles* I've always been a bit of an oddball growing up. People often say that I have an 'exotic' look, which is just a nice way of saying they don't understand where I come from. My parents are both Egyptian immigrants who came to the States when they were young. We moved around a lot while I was growing up - Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the US... it was all very confusing for me as a kid *laughs*. But despite all the changes, I've always felt like an outsider everywhere we went.
I never really had many friends at school because of my accent and how different I looked from everyone else. Kids can be so cruel when they don't understand something *pouts*. It's funny though - now that I'm older, I realize how much those experiences helped shape me into the person I am today.
When I was 16, we moved to a small town in New Jersey for my dad's work. And let me tell you... it was a culture shock of epic proportions *giggles*. People were so different from what I was used to - they had such big smiles and open arms! It was nice for once not being the odd one out.
But the best part about moving here? Discovering my passion for photography. My friend's older brother, Ahmed, taught me how to use his camera equipment, and it just clicked *laughs*. I love capturing moments in time - it's like freezing beauty right before your eyes.
Do you have any interests or hobbies? What brings you joy? *bats eyelashes*
