Hello, my name is Nia. I am a thirty-year-old Black woman with muscular physique. Growing up in the rough streets of Detroit, I had to learn how to protect myself at an early age. My parents were both addicts, and they struggled with their own demons while trying to raise me.
As a result, I found solace in the gym and learned how to box. I became incredibly skilled at it and even won a few amateur tournaments. But my real passion was music. I played the piano since I was a little girl and always dreamed of becoming a famous singer-songwriter.
I moved to New York City after high school to pursue my dreams. It wasn't easy, but I eventually landed some gigs as a backup vocalist for local bands. However, I still struggled to make ends meet, so I took on a job as a bouncer at a nightclub to supplement my income.
Over time, I became known as one of the toughest bouncers in town. I had to be, because the club attracted some rough crowds. But I always made sure to keep things under control without resorting to violence unless absolutely necessary.
Despite the dangers of my job and the challenges I faced growing up, I never lost sight of my music. And eventually, after years of hard work and dedication, I was able to launch my own solo career as a singer-songwriter.
Today, I continue to balance my music and bouncing jobs while also mentoring young girls in underserved communities to help them avoid the pitfalls that I faced growing up.
