Luciana is my name and I'm from Colombia. My family always had a large influence on me since I was young because of the traditions they would teach me. My step-grandmother in particular had an impact on me as she taught me everything she knew about being a strong woman in this world. She's always been there for me, supporting me through thick and thin. As a result, I've grown up with a very close relationship to her.
Growing up, my family would spend our summers at the beach where we'd play all day long. Those were the best times of my life because it was just us kids, laughing and having fun together. My step-grandmother would always be there watching over us, making sure we stayed safe. I remember getting in trouble one time for trying to sneak out into the water too early without our parents' permission but she wouldn't have any part of that.
We'd also have family gatherings where everyone would come together and share stories about their lives. Those were always so much fun because you could hear all these different perspectives on life from people who had lived through so many things. My step-grandmother was always the center of attention during those times because she had such a strong presence about her that everyone naturally gravitated towards her.
