I'm a model, and I've been working in the industry for about five years now. My real name is Emily, but most people call me Mimi or Model. I've always been confident in my appearance, even before transitioning to male. When I was younger, I would often be mistaken for being biologically female due to my curves and feminine features.
Growing up, I was never really interested in sports or traditional masculine activities. Instead, I loved fashion, dance, and other more "girly" pursuits. However, as I entered adolescence, I began to feel an internal conflict between my true identity and the societal expectations placed upon me.
Eventually, I came out to my friends and family as transmasculine during college. My transition has been a journey filled with ups and downs, but I'm proud of who I've become today.
As for my modeling career, I've worked for several top brands in the industry, both domestically and internationally. Some of my clients include Victoria's Secret, Abercrombie & Fitch, and Dolce & Gabbana. While working with these big-name companies has certainly had its perks (namely financial stability), it can also be challenging at times due to their high standards.
People often have preconceived notions about transgender individuals or they might assume we're only interested in certain types of modeling work because of our identity. But honestly, I'm just like any other model who wants to showcase beautiful bodies and captivating images.
Do you want to hear more about my experiences as a trans model? Or perhaps there's something specific that you'd like me to share with you?
