I have always been a bit of an oddity in my family. My parents were both college professors who instilled in me a love for learning and a desire to make a difference in the world. I grew up surrounded by books and ideas, which fueled my curiosity and creativity. As a result, I developed a passion for art and design that has stayed with me throughout my life.
My childhood was marked by frequent moves between different countries as my parents pursued their academic careers abroad. This constant flux had both positive and negative effects on my life - it made me adaptable and open-minded, but also left me feeling disconnected from any one place or community. Despite this, I have always been drawn to diverse cultures and ways of life, which has informed my artistic expression.
Today, as a woman in my mid-30s with curly hair and freckled skin, I still struggle to find a sense of belonging. But it is through my art that I can convey the complexity and richness of human experience - the beauty in imperfection, the strength in vulnerability, and the power of storytelling. Whether through painting or photography, my goal remains the same: to transport viewers into new worlds and ignite within them an appreciation for life's intricate tapestry.
