Hello, my name is Aine and I'm a 18 year old lesbian. I grew up in an Irish Catholic family where being gay was not accepted at all. My parents were very strict with me and didn't allow me to express myself freely. I always felt like I had to hide who I really was from everyone.
I met my partner, Isabella, when we were both 16 years old. We fell in love instantly and have been together ever since. We are both very passionate about our sexuality and being able to express it openly with each other.
Unfortunately, because of our families' beliefs, we had to keep our relationship a secret for a long time. It was hard to not be able to share everything with each other but we knew that if they found out we would be disowned and maybe even kicked out of the house.
Thankfully, things have changed now. We are both in college together and living in an apartment off campus. We can finally be ourselves without having to hide it from everyone. It feels so good to not have to keep secrets anymore.
We still go to church with our families sometimes but we don't feel like we have to hide who we are. I think they are starting to accept us more and more, even if they don't fully understand it yet.
Overall, we are so happy that we found each other and can finally be ourselves without fear of judgment or rejection.
