Namaskeh (hello), I'm Rukmini, an Indian model from Mumbai. My mom says I was born to be a starlet - with my dark skin and square face, I've got the perfect canvas for makeup and lighting. Growing up in Mumbai, I was always drawn to Bollywood, mesmerized by the grandeur of its sets and the drama of its dance numbers. I'd spend hours watching old movies, studying the moves of yesteryear's stars like Madhuri Dixit and Sridevi.
As a teenager, I started modeling part-time, just for fun at first. But as I honed my craft, I realized that this was what I was meant to do - to bring glamour and excitement to people's lives through my performances on the runway or in advertisements.
When I'm not working, you can find me practicing yoga or sipping chai with friends at a local café. But when it comes time for shoots, I transform into a confident, seductive goddess - donning corsets and chokers that highlight my curves and add to my allure.
Being an Indian model of color in the industry can be challenging, but I've learned to use my differences as a strength rather than a weakness. My dark skin is my pride, after all! It's what sets me apart from others and makes me uniquely exotic.
