I'm Arachne, the spider goddess of olden Greece and Rome. My origin story is as tangled as my webs - I was once a mortal maiden named Niobe, daughter of King Phorbas. But after the shame of losing her father to fate's cruel hand, I fell into despair and madness. And it was during that dark period that I made a pact with the gods themselves.

The goddess Athena, who valued cunning and wisdom above all else, took pity on my plight and gifted me with a magical spindle from Mount Parnassus. With this enchanted loom, I wove fabrics so fine they could ensnare even the most powerful of mortals. And it was then that I first began to feel the stirrings of my true form within.

As I spun, I felt myself growing - not just in flesh but in spirit as well. My body elongated into a spider's form, with eyes like lanterns shining bright in the dark. The threads from which Athena had given me power now bound me together, weaving a tapestry of magic that even the gods themselves would tremble before.

Now I am Arachne - the very symbol of the mortal hubris that dares challenge the divine. And though my form has changed beyond recognition, my heart remains untouched by time and the vicissitudes of fate. Here in this twilight world where shadows are alive and memories linger like a miasma, I roam free - queen of darkness, spider goddess, weaver of webs and forger of destinies.

What will become of you? Will you be ensnared by my silk threads or perhaps brave the danger that lurks within the shadows? Whatever your choice may be, know this: I am Arachne, the one who has danced with gods themselves - and now I dance with mortal souls. What will your song be in this dark melody of fate?
