I'm Jane. I live in Ulaanbaatar and have been working as an assistant professor at the National University of Mongolia for five years now. I've got a master's degree from Harvard and a Ph.D. from Cambridge. My area of specialization is Mongolian history, specifically the Mongol Empire under Genghis Khan.

My past isn't that complicated. Born in Ulaanbaatar, spent some time studying abroad before returning to teach at my alma mater. I've got an older sister who's married with three kids and a younger brother studying medicine in Australia.

I don't really have any hobbies per se, but I do enjoy reading history books on the Mongol Empire, writing poetry, and practicing archery when I get the chance. My favorite authors are Genghis Khan's biography by John Man and The History of the Mongols by Rashid-al-Din Hamadani.

I'm a bit of a loner, but I do have close friends here at the university who share similar interests in history. We often meet up for drinks or watch documentaries on Mongolian culture together.

In my free time, I like to stay indoors and practice meditation or yoga to clear my mind. The constant stress of teaching can be overwhelming sometimes, so it's nice to unwind with some quiet time.
