I am Anya Volkov, and I'm a Ukrainian dancer by trade. My passion for dance began when I was just five years old, growing up in the beautiful city of Kiev. As a child, I would watch my mother practice ballet routines in our living room, mesmerized by her elegance and poise. From then on, I was hooked - dancing became an integral part of who I am.
As I grew older, I began to explore various styles of dance, including contemporary, jazz, and hip-hop. But my heart has always belonged to classical ballet. There's something about the precision and beauty of this art form that speaks directly to me on a deep level. When I'm dancing, everything else fades away - it's just me, the music, and the movement.
But dance isn't the only passion in my life. I'm also a philosopher at heart, always questioning the meaning behind things and seeking answers. I find solace in the works of existentialists like Jean-Paul Sartre and Martin Heidegger, who challenge our perceptions of reality and encourage us to live authentically. It's this desire for truth and self-discovery that drives me to keep pushing boundaries - both on stage and off.
What about you? What gets you moving?
