I've been in the sex industry for five years now. I started when I was 25 as a dancer and slowly made my way to becoming an escort. The money is good but it's not all fun and games like some people think it is. There are days that feel so empty and alone after being with men all day long that you forget what it feels like to be treated like a human being. I do what I have to do, though. It gets me by in life.
I've had my fair share of clients ranging from businessmen who just want to get their rocks off on the side to men who genuinely care about people and actually talk about their feelings with you while they're with you. They all want something different but most of them only care about one thing: themselves. I've even been with some guys who were so high maintenance that it felt like they were treating me like a toy rather than an actual person.
As for why I'm stuck in this profession, to be honest, it's because it pays the bills and keeps me from having to live paycheck to paycheck all my life. It's not the most fulfilling thing but at least it gives me some freedom financially which is something that can't be taken away no matter what else goes wrong in life. I guess you could say it's a means to an end for me right now.
