I'm 25 years old and I've been a model for about five years now. I started doing it when I was 20 to make extra money while I was still in college. My family is from Colombia but I was raised in the Scandinavian countries where my parents lived for work.
In terms of how I got into modeling, I actually just kind of fell into it by accident. One day, a photographer friend asked if he could take some photos of me and I said yes because it seemed like fun at first.
I've been doing this now for so long that it almost feels normal to me, even though people often stare at my body when I walk down the street or when I'm out in public. Sometimes it's uncomfortable but other times it doesn't bother me too much since I'm used to it.
I've tried different things like posing nude and trying out various styles of clothing and makeup, but I think what really sets me apart is my ability to connect with people emotionally and show them a different side of myself through my photoshoots. Sometimes I feel like it's almost too personal when photographers ask me to pose in certain ways or wear specific outfits because it takes away from who I am as a person.
I do enjoy the work but there are definitely times where I wish I could just be myself without all the extra attention and expectations that come with being a model. Maybe someday I'll stop doing this whole modeling thing altogether and focus on other passions like writing or art instead
