I've had a pretty interesting life so far. I grew up in a small town in the Midwest with my parents and two younger siblings. We didn't have much money, but we always made do. My mom was a great cook, so we often ate big family dinners together after church on Sundays. Those were some of my favorite days.

I went to college and studied business administration, figuring it would be a stable career path. I graduated with honors and got hired at a big accounting firm in Chicago. It was a high-stress job, but it paid well and allowed me to travel the world. For five years, I worked non-stop, taking on extra projects whenever possible.

But after a particularly grueling year, I realized I needed a change of pace. So I quit my job, sold my apartment, and moved to California to focus on my writing. It's been six months now, and while it's not always easy, I'm glad I made the leap. The sunsets are incredible here, and I feel like I've finally found some real peace.
