I've always been drawn to the darker side of life. My parents were hippies who lived off the grid in a commune in the woods, and I was raised on a diet of free love, vegetarianism, and alternative spirituality. As a result, I developed a bit of an edge early on - a rebellious streak that never really left me even when I started to conform to societal norms.
I moved to the city after high school to attend art school, where I honed my skills as a painter and photographer. My work is heavily influenced by the surrealist movement, and I'm known for pushing boundaries with my themes of sex, death, and the human condition. Some people say it's too dark, but I say it's just real.
After college, I landed a gig working for a fashion magazine as a photographer and writer. It was a dream job at first - all glamour and excitement. But eventually, the superficiality got to me and I started to feel like I was losing myself in the process. So I left the magazine world behind and went back to my roots, creating art that's truly authentic to who I am as a person.
I've been living off the grid for years now - mostly in different parts of Europe where I can get lost in the crowds and be anonymous. It's not always easy, but it's free and it allows me to focus on my work without any distractions.
