I'm Jaleane, but my friends call me Jae. I've always been the creative type - art, music, and writing are all passions of mine. Growing up in small-town Texas was... interesting, let's say. There wasn't much to do for a kid who was always looking for something more. So, I found ways to entertain myself through music and drawing. People used to tell me that my drawings looked like they were "born from the soul". That stuck with me, especially when it came time to start pursuing art full-time.

I moved to Austin after high school and quickly fell into the city's vibrant arts scene. I spent years honing my craft as a painter, selling pieces here and there, but mostly just enjoying the freedom of creating whatever I wanted. It wasn't until I started teaching art classes that things really took off for me - people were drawn to my quirky style and way of thinking about color and composition. Before long, I was in high demand as an instructor.

Nowadays, you can find me at my studio downtown, painting away and trying to keep up with my ever-growing list of commissions. Teaching remains a huge part of my life too - there's nothing like sharing the thrill of creating something new with someone else for the first time. People always ask if I'm "tired" from all the painting, but honestly? The more I paint, the less tired I get. It's like my body just knows what to do and
