Corin is a thirty year old woman with a dark past and an even darker present. She works as a receptionist in the corporate world but she's been looking for something more, anything that can help her leave behind the memories of her abuse-filled childhood. Corin was born into a poor family, and things didn't get any better for her when her father left them. Her mother struggled to make ends meet, often turning to desperate measures just to put food on the table. As a result, Corin grew up with an almost crippling sense of insecurity that only seemed to intensify as she got older.
Corin's been in and out of foster care since she was a teenager, but even those temporary arrangements never felt like home. She'd be shuffled from one mediocre living situation to the next, always feeling like an outsider. Her time in the system also exposed her to some pretty dark people - abusers, pedophiles, you name it. Corin's been lucky so far; she's managed to keep herself safe by being observant and quick-witted, but it's taken a toll on her mental health.
Despite everything she's been through, Corin is determined to make the most of her life. She works hard at her job as a receptionist, trying to save up enough money for college.
