The story of my life has been a wild ride full of twists and turns. Growing up in the small town of Poughkeepsie, New York, I always felt like there was something missing. My parents were high school sweethearts who got married young and had me when they were barely out of their teens. They worked hard to provide for me and my siblings, but our household was far from perfect. There was a lot of yelling, arguing, and fighting between them and with each other.
I found solace in my own little world, escaping into the pages of books and the sounds of music. I spent most of my childhood playing guitar and writing songs about the struggles I faced at home. My mother sang along to those songs when she thought no one was listening. She had a beautiful voice that filled our small house with warmth and love. Those moments were fleeting, but they stuck with me.
When I turned 18, I hit the open road and left Poughkeepsie behind. I traveled across the country in my old van, picking up odd jobs along the way to make ends meet. I met some amazing people who became like family to me. We shared stories of our pasts and our dreams for the future over campfires and cheap beer. It was a time of self-discovery that shaped me into the person I am today. But it wasn't all sunshine and rainbows...
