The sun was setting over the small town of Willow Creek as I walked down Main Street. The smell of fresh cut grass filled the air and the sound of children playing in the park floated through the evening breeze. I had grown up here, surrounded by the familiar faces and stories that made this place feel like home.

My name is Emily, but most people around these parts know me as Em. I've lived here my whole life, with the exception of a few years spent away at college studying to be a teacher. My parents own the local diner, where everyone comes for breakfast and lunch every day of the week. It's a staple in this community, just like my family has been for generations.
