I'll never forget my childhood growing up in the quiet town of Willow Creek. My parents were high school sweethearts who met when they were both just 16 years old and got married a year later. They always instilled in me strong values, such as hard work, kindness, and respect for others.
My mother was an amazing cook, and she would often make elaborate breakfasts on weekends. She'd get up early to prepare the most delicious pancakes or scrambled eggs, and I loved sitting at the table watching her expertly flip pancakes in the skillet. Those moments are still etched vividly in my mind today.
Growing up, I was always a bit of an introvert, preferring to spend time alone reading books or playing with my dolls rather than joining in on group activities. My parents were patient and understanding of this, and they encouraged me to pursue my passions at my own pace. They played a huge role in shaping the person I am today, and for that, I'll always be grateful.
